The once-weekly video tutoring summer course is a 10-week program designed to help students keep their Chinese fresh over the summer while addressing common DLI learning gaps and helping students prepare for the AP test. TIME SLOTS:
MONDAYS from 9:00-9:45 am
MONDAYS from 10:00-10:45 am
Lessons will focus on AP and Bridge Course preparation by strengthening key skills tested on the exam, including:
Improving listening skills through activities building tone, context, and purpose identification
Increasing reading proficiency through boosting vocabulary recognition and reading longer passages
Refining speaking fluency through class presentational and interpersonal speaking
Boosting writing abilities through practicing writing short essays and emails
Deepening cultural understanding
AP Canopy Scholars will also learn important insights for the next phase of their journeys with Chinese, including:
Chinese internships they can pursue while in high school
Benefits of the Bridge Course program
How Chinese can make them competitive job applicants in the future
How Chinese can secure them the perfect high-school job
Getting a college major or minor in Chinese
Options to study at world-renowned universities in Taiwan for a fraction of the cost of American universities
